Basic Pistol Skills and Development

Basic Pistol Skills and Development is an entry course for beginner shooters. Ideally, it is for students with little to no firearms experience who wish to be put on the right path. We will teach you all the basics of the pistol you need to know. We will cover how to take the pistol apart all the way to firing the weapon system.

Minimum requirements / recommendations

  • Handgun with at least three magazines (rentals may be available. Email us if interested)

  • Reliable gun belt (IWB or OWB) with a reliable holster (No Serpa, Nylon or Leather holsters)

  • At least one magazine holder

  • Eye protection

  • Hearing protection

  • 200-300 rounds

  • Reliable tourniquet 

  • IFAK (recommended)

  • Notepad and pen (recommended)

  • Sunscreen (recommended)

  • Water and snacks

  • Black Sharpie

  • Appropriate range clothing

Analytical Pistol 

Analytical Pistol is a course designed to help the student refine the fundamentals of marksmanship. We review the basic fundamentals, then we focus on helping the student improve their overall performance by showing them how to shoot sooner rather than faster. This course is not meant for first-time shooters and will be a four to eight hour training block

  • Handgun with at least three magazines

  • Reliable gun belt (IWB or OWB) with a reliable holster (No Serpa, Nylon or Leather holsters)

  • At least one magazine holder

  • Eye protection

  • Hearing protection

  • 300-500 rounds

  • Reliable tourniquet 

  • IFAK (recommended)

  • Notepad and pen (recommended)

  • Sunscreen (recommended)

  • Water and snacks

  • Black Sharpie

  • Appropriate range clothing

Problem-Solving Pistol

Problem Solving Pistol is a continuation of our Analytical Pistol Course. Our goal during this training block is to focus on topics such as movement, weapon malfunctions, and target transitions. This course is an intermediate course and is not designed for first-time shooters. This will be a four to eight hour training block. 

Minimum requirements / recommendations

  • Handgun with at least three magazines

  • Reliable gun belt (IWB or OWB) with a reliable holster (No Serpa, Nylon or Leather holsters)

  • At least one magazine holder

  • Eye protection

  • Hearing protection

  • 400-500 rounds

  • Reliable tourniquet 

  • IFAK (recommended)

  • Notepad and pen (recommended)

  • Sunscreen (recommended)

  • Water and snacks

  • Black Sharpie

  • Appropriate range clothing

Pistol Skills and Drills

Pistol Skills and Drills is a training day where we focus on repetitions. There will be very little time for teaching and it will be more of putting your skills to the test. It’s a chance for you to push yourself and set new boundaries. The drills will include stationary and movement drills. There will also be friendly competitions.

  • At least one magazine holder

  • Eye protection

  • Hearing protection

  • 300-400 rounds

  • Reliable tourniquet 

  • IFAK (recommended)

  • Notepad and pen (recommended)

  • Sunscreen (recommended)

  • Water and snacks

  • Black Sharpie

  • Appropriate range clothing
